We’ve joined the Open and Trusting community of funders led by the Institute for Voluntary Action Research.

This means:

  • We make grants in a way that reflects the realities facing the voluntary and community sector and other civil society organisations for now and in the future.
  • We also manage our grants in a way that reflects our confidence in and respect for the organisations we fund.

Headline: We're making eight commitments to open and trusting grant-making. Presented within multi-coloured boxes read the following commitments (left to right): Don't waste time. Ask relevant questions. Accept risk. Communicate with purpose. Act with urgency. Be open. Enable flexibility. Be proportionate.

We stand with over 140 grant-makers rethinking how grants are made and managed.

Together we’ve signed up to eight shared commitments which have been designed in partnership with charities and funders. These principles aim to make funding more flexible, more responsive, and ultimately more effective in making lasting change for communities.

In a time of growing need where resources are stretched, it’s important that charities and funders work in partnership – aligning our goals, making the most of what we have, and delivering greater impact together.
